Counseling & Emotional Support

Survivors of sex trafficking often carry deep emotional scars, trauma, and psychological challenges that can impact their recovery and reintegration into society. At RenewedPaths, we prioritize mental health and emotional well-being through:

  • Trauma-Informed Counseling: Our licensed therapists specialize in working with survivors of sex trafficking, offering individual and group therapy that focuses on trauma recovery. Survivors can process their experiences in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

  • Art & Music Therapy: For those who find traditional talk therapy difficult, we offer creative outlets such as art and music therapy to help survivors express and heal from their trauma in different ways.

  • Support Groups: Peer support plays a critical role in healing. Our group therapy sessions allow survivors to connect with others who have experienced similar hardships, offering encouragement and understanding through shared experiences.

Safe Housing

One of the biggest hurdles survivors face after leaving a trafficking situation is finding safe, stable housing. Without a safe place to call home, recovery is nearly impossible. Our housing programs include:

  • Transitional Housing: Survivors can access temporary housing in a secure, supportive environment while they work towards rebuilding their lives. These homes are confidential and staffed by trained professionals who provide around-the-clock care.

  • Long-Term Housing Support: For survivors who are ready to transition to independent living, we provide long-term housing assistance. This includes help with finding affordable housing, navigating the rental process, and providing initial financial support for rent, utilities, and furnishings.

  • Life Skills Workshops: While living in our transitional housing, survivors have the opportunity to participate in workshops on life skills such as budgeting, cooking, home management, and conflict resolution, empowering them to live independently.

Job Training & Employment Assistance

Economic independence is a key factor in breaking the cycle of exploitation. Survivors often face barriers to employment due to lack of work experience, education gaps, or a criminal record. At RenewedPaths, we offer a range of services to help survivors build a new career path:

  • Career Counseling: Survivors work with career coaches to explore their skills and interests, helping them identify fulfilling career opportunities that align with their goals.

  • Job Training Programs: We offer vocational training programs that equip survivors with the skills they need to enter fields such as healthcare, technology, administration, and skilled trades.

  • Resume Building & Interview Preparation: Survivors receive one-on-one coaching to build a professional resume, practice interview techniques, and gain the confidence needed to reenter the workforce.

  • Job Placement Services: Through partnerships with local businesses and industries, we help survivors secure stable employment opportunities that offer livable wages and growth potential.

Financial Literacy & Credit Repair

Many survivors of sex trafficking emerge with damaged credit, often due to debt incurred in their name by traffickers or a lack of financial literacy. Financial stability is critical to their independence and long-term success. Our financial empowerment program provides:

  • Credit Repair Services: Our team works with survivors to review and repair their credit reports. We assist in disputing fraudulent charges, negotiating debt settlements, and removing inaccurate or harmful information from their credit files.

  • Financial Coaching: Survivors are paired with financial coaches who help them create and manage a budget, set financial goals, and understand personal finance basics, such as savings, credit, and investments.

  • Microloans & Savings Programs: We offer small, interest-free microloans to help survivors meet immediate financial needs while they work to improve their financial standing. Additionally, we provide access to savings programs that offer matched savings to encourage healthy financial habits.

Legal Assistance

Navigating the legal system can be overwhelming for survivors, many of whom have been criminalized for acts committed under duress or have immigration issues tied to their trafficking experience. Our legal services include:

  • Expungement & Record Clearing: We assist survivors in clearing their criminal records when applicable, helping them move forward without the burden of a past conviction.

  • Immigration Assistance: For non-citizen survivors, we work with immigration attorneys to help them secure legal status, including applications for T-visas, U-visas, and other forms of humanitarian relief.

  • Legal Advocacy: Survivors may need legal advocacy in matters such as custody battles, restraining orders, or housing disputes. We connect them with attorneys who are experienced in handling sensitive legal issues related to trafficking.
